the only way i can use my synth in tracks is to record it with my mpc in the sample screen

the only problem with doing that is not being able to play along with the track

how do i add, say a bass line to a track, hear the synth while listening to the rest of the sequence at the same time..

is there a way?

is it just that i need a mixer?

it is the next thing on my list of things to get but if there is a way to do it without just sampling then that'd be good............................... :!:

I think it's not possible. Maybe you can use a drummachine or PC that makes a sound at the same tempo like a basdrum and use that sound for playing in the right tempo and record it.

get u 2 midi cables, get the handshake connection connected, and ur good. u may need a mixer b/c midi isnt audio.

the manual should cover this.

i cant try that yet since i need me another cable and obviously a mixer

but hooking it up like that will take the sounds from the synth yea?

how does that work since it's hooked up through midi..

i want a kind of setup like boon doc how he puts bass lines over his beats straight out using his mpc sequencer

it's kind of puzzling me abit here

its all about midi. or you can get a daw but thats probably not high on your list if you dont have a mixer yet

oh and boondoc uses a motif rack midi to his mpc with a controller keyboard. i think its a mo if i remember right. or its a fantom rack. either way its still midi to the mpc
