choppin on the 2000xl

yo peeps, i hav a mpc 2000xl, when i watch a load of these beat makin vids i c that they hav the whole sample cut up on all 16 pads and they all mute out each other wen u hit any pad, how do u do is? because i can only get 3 of the pads 2 work 2 gether like dis.

Three pads is maximum as far as I know.
There was a tip given by one user on this board not so long ago. He figured out how to make it 6 as max, but I haven't tried it yet.

There IS a way to achieve this, by chopping a loop for example into 16 pieces, recording each piece on a separate Track by repeating it through the whole sequence (it's better when chops are equally long).Then you can use SOLO option in the TRACK MUTE screen. By pressing a pad 1-16 corresponding to a particular track, you will hear only the chop recorded to this track.

Just a thought, there might be a better way to do this.
