i just got a mpc 2kxl and i was wondering when my mpc is hooked up to my friends synth why is the synth constantly holding a note. i looked in the manual and i got it hooked up right i think. my friend thinks it might be his synth, because its old. i dont know what is wrong. the other thing is what is a good program for me to use with my mpc connected midi to my computer. i searched for the first question and got to page 16 and gave up thought maybe someone could help. thanks

dont know the answer to your questions but sometimes my midi controller will hold a single note. i find that note on the keyboard, hit it, & then it turns itself off. i think i read somewhere that the 1st midi jack on the mp is known to do that. im probably wrong though lol

INs- outs and outs to ins. Handshake Midi set up. Make sure you swich that little S to a M on the track window. Scroll thre step edit and see if what the not duration is set to, it might carry too long or you may have got an odd signal in there somewhere. I had random problems all the time when I was using the MPC to sequence my boards. Its probably not his board, I got an old juno and it works great, and sometimes this happens even with newer boards. I usually just shut the board off, wait a few secs, and turn it back on and have no problems.

What is your budget and what do you want to do with the computer?

i have reason 2.0 and i wanted to know what a good multi tracking program would be to get for using reason, the mpc, and also my friend and i make beats at his house, and he has a smart media card digital multi track recorder, so im gonna use the multi track program to use the songs me and him made so i can make more parts to it, and also to mix down songs that he and his band make, thanks for the help

i've always wondered what that was..I thought it was only me. hehe. My triton le would do this once in a while, but I have to turn the keyboard off to stop the on going note.
