Layering pad sounds on the MPC2000XL?

Is there a way you can copy the pad performance sequence data from one pad to another easily on the 2000XL?

Basically I want to layer the same drum pad performance on different pads with different sounds.

I'm guessing I shouldn't have to repeat the performance manually every time I want to layer a sound on the MPC but I cant seem to see anything related to this in the manual.

any ideas?

maybe try copying one trac to another and transpose the track so that the note corresponds to the pad you want it to change to

You can get one pad to trigger 2 other pads also. Totalling 3 samples all at the same time via "SIMULT" 2kxl manual, pg 119.

or.......


Copy the orig track to another track and change the note for the copied track via "EDIT", 2kxl manual, pg 69.
