mpc 2k with busted screen = midi controller for reason?

Hey all, what up? Hope someone can help me with this question i have,

Do you guys think that i can use a mpc 2k with a busted screen (screen is dead) as a midi controller like a mpd or korg pad kontrol for reason? i just wanna use the pads to trigger samples in the dr. rex or make my drum patterns using the pads and recording the midi into reason.

you can use it for that, yeah. You should fix the screen though - seems like a lot of waste since the mpc is such a capable sequencer/sampler.

If you need a midi controller you might as well get an MPD-24... don't let your MPC's functionality go to waste

Jewfro, my friend has two mpcs with the screen gone on both of them.. he says i could have one. would i ever need the screen to set it up to work as a midi controller with reason?

i have been making beats on reason for like 5 years now and am comfortable with that set up however i did all my drums by pointing and clicking... i want to get a little bit of a human feel going and it would really help alot in my sampling and playing my chops...

so i am confused if i need to cop an mpd-24 or will the mpc 2k do the trick despite the screen being completely gone...

Now you could probably use a busted-screen MPC like an mpd-24 without spending any money. OR you could also spend the $189 to get a new screen from VST and have an MPC for $189+ shipping and tax if your in CA.

The free busted-screen MPC won't give you all of the functionality of an MPD-24 though.
