LCD technical details?

Does anyone know any specifics about the LCD Akai uses in the 2000 and XL? All I have found is that it is 248x60 dots and it seems to have parallel data input based on the ribbon cable that attaches it. Since the huge price hike on the display I'd like to cross reference and find an alternative if possible.

Good luck going the alternate route I doubt you will find anything your better off just buying it from VST or MPC Stuff for $140-150

yep, but they can charge that, cause they got the goods, and the demand is there. check if S series racks use a similar lcd, cause u might pick one of them up even cheaper.

It doesn't matter the screens are not the same on these.
