Help me please!!

Hey guys im new here and i just bought a mpc 2000 !
Yay and not yay, because even though the guy i bought it from told me that the display didn't work, I got this feeling that it wasnt just the display that didnt work, but the entire machine.
I turn it on and there is light in the display, but it's only showing some stripes in the middle of it.
All of the lights above the buttons is on (Play, REC etc.)

Is it broken or does it only need a new display? and if it is broken can it be fixed?

from the sound of it so far, since you haven't loaded sounds or anything, it's just the display

I dont know how to load sounds when the display only shows stripes.
i tried to insert a disk with drum sounds and it keeps saying a loading sort a noize.

my 2000xl did that when i bought it. the screen worked fine but had a loose connection inside and i just simply tested every cable inside until it worked. and bam good as new. it was probably thrown by ups or fedex. but i know when your screen is **** it can mess everything up. aight peace god. let us know th e details of what was wrong. peace

Do you insert an OS disk? It may just be waiting for a disk with an Operating System to load from...

That could be the reason too.. but were can i get an OS for my mpc 2000 ?

Oh thanks. I guess that was kind of obvious hehe.
Is that the only OS that exists or is there any homemade alternatives that is expanded in any sort of way?
