Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Whats up,
I just wanted to know when you guys are recording your sequences track by track, do you just record each track as a whole, letting it loop over and over for the length of the song? Or do you record a 4 or 2 bar loop and then use it as needed? Im having problems with this when i record into cool edit pro. I have them midi connected, but every time i record it cuts off a small portion of the sequence, so i have to go back and trim it to get it to fit. The problem is when i do that, i get different bpms for my different tracks. Like, my hihats will be at 87.3, and the drums will be at 88 and they get out off sync. How do i get them to record exactly how i did them in the first place? Sorry for the long post, but any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks

first make sure you're recording on the same sequence. after that you can copy that sequence and add or subtract tracks(mute tracks) as you please to change it up. then go to song mode and arrange the sequences as you please. as for C.E.P, depending on how many outs you have on the MPC and how many ins you can record in C.E.P from your sound card determines you recording track for track. best thing would be to record in stereo(left & right) from MPC to your sound card into C.E.P.

word to bigskee...i construct my beat using various sequences then put it all together in song mode. After that i choose which samples go through my eight outs, which go into my mixer (where i mix each individual sound to my liking)..and then i take my main outs from the mixer and then go into Input1 and Input2 of my soundcard, adjust the levels inside Logic, and then record! i have the 2000xl by the way
