how to control the pitchbend right

One again guys, i got some questions for'ya

i use my MPC to sequence EVERYTHING, my TR909, the Nord Modular, even the SH101 (by using a MIDI-to-CV/Gate Tool ) but when i'm trieing to use the pitchbend ... i hear exactly NOTHING

... the bithbend goes from -8192 up to +8191 but how does this fit
what count's only one octave ... no idea - hope you can halp me

What are you bending, a controller keyboard? or using the slider on the MPC?

If the latter, you have to go to the midi screen and assign the slider to the controller number for pitchbend (0 or 1? I forget)

If a controller, set midi thru to on, and make sure the midi filter is passing pitchbend data.

Also your Midi to CV converter must support pitchbend. Most do, but make sure. It won't do anything to your 909, but the 101 should do it.

What midi to Cv are you using?

We use a Doepfer MCV4 - it does support pitchbend, i already asked Dieter Doepfer himself
We use the insert function in the MPC build in step sequencer, no MIDI Keyboard and the MPC slider.
The TR909 .... thanks, but i already know that - i only said, i use my MPC to trigger the TR909 (but via MIDI) ... gives u a great control over this analog drummie

Iif I was you, I would think simple. I would just get a midi keyboard/controller and use its functions. I try to stay away from those hard to use tools, it puts a lag on the good beats.

i wouldn't say that tose tools are hard to use, but i don't understand them - completly
look ... we coulduse a Midi Keyboard - i thought of buying a »» Korg MicroKontrol «« youst some day's ago (it's MY favourit MIDI controller ) but ... there must be someone out there who knows an answer to my question, so i can program pith bends without buying some extra stuff i don't really need @ the moment

I don't think you can do realtime pitchbends with the MPC unless the assign slider to midi cc works contiuously on external gear.

I don't think the pitchbend wheel will affec the intrenal samples in real time,

But I really don't know.

it DOES ... just take a look into the manual ... I didn't try it myself, cause we try tu use as less samples as possible !
But again, this wasn't the question - i think there's no other chance, than buy a MIDI Keyboard an findout how much a 1 octave shift counts ...
