About seperating tracks into different outputz and tracks

Wassup this is my first post hear...I come from futureproducers.com and just needed something more mpc oriented...Now what im tryna do is put my instruments on different tracks and yes i used the search button...Now i dont kno if im doing this right on my mpc 2000 non xl but i go to mixer choose a channel open window and then go to output and change that to 1 and 2 now am i doin this right...but the only problem wit that is now its on 1 and 2 and i only want it on 1....any help please.........

you can only put it on 1 or 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 if it is a mono sample if its stereo then you'll get 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8

so do u recommend that i change all my samples to mono

I say leave those samples mono. There is no need for a whole pool of sterio samples. Besides, if you are routing to your mixer, you can tweak the sounds and make them sound sterio. Most fx are sterio, and just adding a little of the right effect will completely transform your sound.
