It can bring the pitch of a note up or down. Or when you're in TRIM the window, you can use it to adjust the trim of a sample instead of using the jog wheel. ;)

I think I need to study that part in the manual. I must not know what I'm doing because it does nothing for me nor in the trim screen. Could that be because it's not the XL?

Press SHIFT + AFTER and then an ASSIGN NOTE window should show up, press the sample that you want and move the slider up and down. You got it second hand, but I doubt that the first owner had the slider function deleted from the O.S. LOL 8)

My NV is also dosen't work when I push the same time shift+after etc.
So I have to use jog wheel.
What do you mean "deleted from the O.S." ?
If is deleted can I change a settings in O.S ? How?

Here is the manual.
When you are in trim
Hold down shift then move the slider. Thats it. You have to be holding down shift while you are movin the slider in trim. Not note var. Just the slider and shift.
If you hit shift + note var in the main window, you assign a note or pad to it just by pressin a pad when the screen comes up. Then move the slider while pressin the pad. Hear the difference?

You need to press the button above the slider first and assign it to a pad and select Note Var. first... then do what they said. Have you tried it?
