Im a 2000XL user and Im just curious if anyone has found some non traditional ways of incorporating their MPC into their production. With software being able to do so much now, and so efficiently, im just looking for new ways to think about the MPC 2000XL and how it could be used. Share you Creative approaches to incorporating the MPC into your music.

Aw man my lil cuzzin uses his mpc so crazy yo I cant even fully explain it. Good thread by the way.

He will make the entire beat on his computer in Reasons, then he will put his cf card into the computer then he will take all his instrument loops and put each one of the loops in its entirety like say he had a flute for 8 bars then a synth for 8 bars then a bass for 8 bars. He copies all that data to the card. Then he assigns those loops to each pad. Then he starts his sequence and holds the pad down until the loop finsihes for 8 bars. And thats how he programs all his sounds in. Then he plays the drums over top of the loops. Something like that.
I mean just imagine sampling THAT much sh!t into your mpc. He said by the time he's done he uses like 3 minutes of sampling time for each beat!

I said to him, why dont you just use midi to trigger reasons. he said because he wants to keep it all in the mpc. I siad then why not track the beat to protools after your done. He just wont change. I dont know where the fuk he got this technique from but he can keep it to himself. He is actually the best producer that I know

I'm using my 2kxl's IN as a MIC preamp for an SM57. I know it's not even a preamp but if turn the volume all the way up it can power a dynamic mic enough and bring up all the middles.

sometimes I load a midi file and another program to get some weird shit...also sample the mpc while it`s loading the sounds-you get some fine glitchy circuit bent sounds....or sample me hitting the mpc....
you see,It got a hard knock live:-)

also check YouTube,DiVinci from solillaquists of sound..but,you will know...
