More than one MIDI sound from Keyboard??

I've been trying to record presets from my ALesis to the MPC. Problem: How do I get more than one preset thru. Say I want to have one track be a Horn from the Alesis, and another track I want it to be a Piano. So far everything I do, it makes it the same instrument on both tracks. And it changes to whatever instrument i select on the keyboard at the time.

I've been readin thru the manual, all the stuff about programs and MIDI channels and all that.. but still cant figure it out.

no worries... after a night of f*ckin around with it i figured it out. haha I'm on cloud 9. peace

On the front panel press MIX> press the BANK button until you are in the USER bank> select MIX #00, this mix is setup for multi-timbral operation.
