The mpc in your pic is a 2kxl. The "thingy" on top is an MFC-42.

They aren't made anymore, you might find a used one somewhere, that's about all you can do.

That's a WAY too over-priced analog filter unit with a mono and a stereo panel. IMO, you shouldn't ever bother searching for it as it goes for over $350 and unless you are an AKAI collector, you can get something else with less for more.

Maybe it is the way you phrased it but, from the way I see it. You're saying he can get a something with less (features) for more (money).
