Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I'm new to the MPC Community. I searched for any topics related to this and it said there were none. I have an MPC 2000 Classic. Anyways, I've been reading around that apparently you need a zip drive that has a termination and identity switches. I have an Iomega Zipdrive 100MB (External) Parallel Port. I read the manual very carefully and for some reason when I am trying to select other options under Shift+Disk it freezes with a Waiting... message when I'm trying to access my zip drive. Tomorrow I plan on purchasing the zip drive with termination and identity switches. Is it a possibility by using the external parallel port zip drive that I blew the SCSI Port fuse on the MPC 2000? I read the other post about how someone daisy chained their zip drive and it some how worked but some of the instructions given were extremely vague. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thats your problem right there.
it HAS TO BE A SCSI DRIVE. Not a parallel drive, not a combination drive. Doesn't it say to use a scsi drive with the scsi port in the manual?
