1/2 second midi delay play back with MPC200xl, Ayuda!

Greetings everyone,

This is my first post and hopefully my last asking for technical assistance. I have searched high and low and have read my manual cover to cover and have experimeneted to no end. I have searched the site and have found what I thought were similar challenges. However, if I have failed to find this, already answered somewhere on the site, my apologies in advance. Here we go:

I have connected my sound module and midi controler so that I could play sounds and record them to MPC sequences. I have recorded brakes and have laid down sounds perfectly. However, my problem is with the play back of the sounds. My Piano or Bass is heard after about a half a second delay and then it's fine as long as I play it continuosly. The problem is the initial playback is off a 1/2 a second approximately. So as you can imagine it gets frustrating when I change sequences because whatever sound I have recorded will pause for that duration before jumping onto my brake. drums are fine and I am able to record sound module, it's just the play back is off that half a second.

I have spoken with friends and have called Korg module tech support. I thought it was a delay with the module; i'm working with the Korg T-R Rack. The gentleman I spoke with said that it couldn't be if when I play a note on controller is not delayed. i put headphones into module and back of, there is no delay. He says I must go farther down the signalpath and so says it must be MPC??????????????

So I don't think it would be the midi sync and thought it might be the midi clock, but I'm not sure. Anyone run into this? Any suggestions?

did you check your quantize settings?

Maybe you have count in on?

You need to give more info on how you have shit set up and what is sequencing what dude.

My set up is as follows
Midi controller out is connected to the Midi In of MPC
Midi in of Sound Module is connected to the Midi Out (A) of MPC.

I experimented with the quantization and time clock; I tried with count in, off and on, Timing etc.

no offense maybe ur timing is just wrong

Turn quantize off and see if you get the same issue. Turn it off on the MPC and any modules if you are using their sequencers.

Also, check your idi page to see if there is any offset parameter engaged.

No offense taken, please that's what I'm looking for is suggestions.

To double check I have taken sounds from module and laid them down in Step Mode. I have run into the same problem when pressing the piano key or pad on/ at 1.01.00, there is still a 1/2 to 1 second delay. I will try again when I get home.

I will turn the quantize off and check the manual of the module to see if there is any offset parameter engaged.

Thanks for ideas and feedback! I re-initialized my MPC and tried from scratch, multi-timbral mode now works like it should
