Can you Dump MIDI sequences or just sounds?

I 'm wondering if it's possible to dump midi sequences as sysex info from an MPC 2000. I've found that I can dump sounds this way, but it does not seem to be possible to dump sequences. Let me know if you all have any solutions.

Why would you want to do that? Could you please explain what you have in mind?

I want to dump the sequences primarily as a way of saving them onto my computer rather than a floppy disk. I know that this could be done by simply connecting the MPC to the computer with the MPC's SCSI port; but my computer does not have a SCSI port on it, and it's been somewhat difficult trying to find SCSI to USB, or SCSI to firewire, cables.

I figure that since I can transfer my samples into my DAW, through the MIDI cables, as sysex files, which can then easily be loaded back into the MPC from the computer, it would be nice to do the same with sequences.

You can also copy the floppy images of your mpc floppies onto a computer harddisk. I run linux on my computers so I use the dd command to copy floppy disk images to my harddisk.

I assume you don't run linux but windows, in that case you can use rawrite to make backups of floppies.
