loading OS without flash rom!!

Hi everyone,
I'm totally new to the mpc. I'm having problems loading the os. i got an mpc 2000xl without the flash memory and the os loaded fine with the floppy but then i installed an internal zip and i can't get it to boot up. i've tried doing it with zip via scsi and it still won't load. i'm gonna get a usb zip and see if thats any easier.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

well, just in case you didn't know (not trying to be an a$$hole), but you do know that the XL has the os built in, there is no need to load the os after you power up. Also, scrap that usb drive. There are no inputs on the MPC for a usb drive.

What happens when you reinstall the floppy? Does your mpc boot up again?
