Can I Swap Card Reader and Floppy Drive Without much Hassle?

What's good people? So I've got two MPCs here. ONe with the card reader and the other with the standard floppy. What I want to do is swap he drives between the machines. The one with the floppy is in much better shape for those wondering what I'm thinking. I thought I would ask here first before I open them up. I know there are different power cables for each drive. Is it a matter of cutting and resoldering the power cables? Thanks

sometimes I think this could be a `cardreader in mpc`forum,so often questions like this been asked...

If it was properly done, it should only be a matter of unplugging and replugging the cables. No big deal.

Nah you have to use a different cable then the floppy ide.

Right, so I take each drives respective power cable with it. My thinking is the power cable clips to the drive and and is also soldered to a PCB so could'nt I just snip it at the PCB and resolder it into the new MPC?

The only thing you need to unsolder is the power cable from the one drive and get a different ribbon cable.

No soldering on the PCB...unless someone did a real nasty job to your MPC. Power and data cables are plugable.

Just open it up and see.
