Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi there,
today i got an IB-208P (ebay). I read somewhere in the www it would work in my MPC as well as the IB-M208P. yeah, yeah ,shouldn't trust everything you read.... Now i experience some difficulty installing it:

1. doesn't seem to fit right: analogue and digital ports do fit in the backpanel. on the right of the board there are two holes for the smpte board, but they don't match with the MPCs holes. ok, i could use a saw to correct this, would be no big deal.

..but...

2. the connector cable that came with the board is way too short to get it in the MPCs P340 when it is in the right position and unfortunately seems to be fixed directly on the board.

I already tested the board, had it connected loosely and it worked fine, i could assign outputs, set levels etc...technically everything seems alright.
is there a way to get a longer cable or somehow lengthen it?

as they say in london " I reckon you've stitched up, sweetheart!" -reckon you've bought a part for another akai product and NOT the 2kxl.

hmm.. cable and connector look like standard IDE...
can i get an adaptor and use a PC IDE cable?

There are many people looking for the S2000 output expansions. I would sell it to one of them at a premium and then buy the correct model and pocket the difference.

ok, think ima resell it and then look for the MPC thing...

iB-208P is for mpc2000 , if you got mpc2000xl you need IB-M208P

Hi

I have an IB-208P board on mi MPC-2000, so..

1. No big deal, yep.
2. I had to change the cable (is a floppy bus). You must to do this with an electrician to assure a good job, cuz cable is fixed to the board.

Regards
