can I midi virtual instruments to my mpc?

I got a synth keyboard that I sequence with my Mpc. I was wondering if I plugged two more midi cables into my computer that somehow I could control a virtual instrument for extra sounds?

It all started when I tried fukkin with cubase, I was able to trigger virtual instruments within the program and record too. How ever you could only record one channel because I don't think cubase had or has now a method of changing midi channels to Mpc on the software.

Anyone out there who's got this setup I'd be amazed to see you got it it setup

One midi cable from the other midi out of your mpc to a midi IN port on your computer. Make sure the VST host respond to messages coming in on that midi IN port.

ya, but does the virtual instrument program support midi channel changes?

Like when I change to midi channel two on the mpc will the VST host change to channel two also?

I coulda swore I posted an in depth explanation for someone to use Reason as a VST within Cubase, and that would have answered this for you, but I can't find it.....wtf?

Anyway, MPC connected to the PC using whatever audio card and midi device it is you use will allow you full control.

Let's say you are using a VST for drums. You can control that VST using the MPC on midi channels, say 1 through 8.

Then you can load up another VST in cubase, set it to midi channel 9, lay that down on the mpc on midi channel 9, etc.

Nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary. Where are you having trouble exactly?
