my mpc's final hour???!!!! CRASHED

hello, i was trying to uodate my mpcs os to see if it woul help with a note repeat problem i was having. but after trying to update MANY TIMES i looked in the screen befor the "secret screen" and it said 1.14 when other-ver says 1.2, so that didnt work correctly. right after doing this my mpc crashed and said

also none of my load/save menus work right, they dont let me go back out of a folder (in open window) once i look in it!! i have to restart the mpc and some times it works then!!! so in short dose any one know what the **** is wrong with my mpc.....at this point im thinking of trashing it cuz the owner before me lost almost all the screws and spilled some thing on it that got through the top board (just a little below the stop start button) and im tired of dumping cash in to it i have already got new ram(he sent it to me with bum ram) new data encoder and i just ordered a new slider to put on but since vst is around 100 bux to do that in the time i would need its just not worth it. can any one help?????!!!!

Sell it as parts and buy a new one. Most cats would love some backup parts or an extra case to customize. Sell it on ebay, as is, someone will buy it!! Then get into something used but not abused. Or get the MPC 1000(new or used) with JJ os. They are dope machines and are available for good prices.

yea im probably goin to sell i all in one cuz now i works about 3/4 of the time (the menu thing is the main issue now) i been looking at a 2500,3000 or mabe i could get the cash for a 4000 but they are all soooooo different i cant decide

Ya me too! If you want to sell the screen that would be worth my while. Oh yeah ,stay with the 2kxl it mos def rips the 4000. I know because i have compared the two. At least if your into underground hiphop. That 4000 and all the rest of the new mpcs sound way to crispy and polished. The 2kxl is mos definitely the dopest sampling engine since it gives the true warm analog sound that not even primo and pete rock can deny.

Wow. Just out of interest, how much did you pay for this MPC? Did you know of these problems before you bought it?

Was that a joke? There's virtually no sound difference between my MPC and my FireFace. ASR, different story, SP -- different story. MPC = PC with an M on the front.
