That's a good question. I've used both in my MPC's and I would say that the only advantages a card reader has over zip is more storage space and no moving parts. The only thing that worries me is the durability of the card reader port as I could imagine the pins bending or wearing out over a given time from repeated use. And internal CF drives seem pretty scarce nowadays also. I wish akai would have gone and gave us 2kxl owners a usb upgrade. That would have been real nice.

yup, think that a usb would be the best solution. Want to keep my MPC old school, but I can't keep runnin' back and forth with all these goddamn discs all the time. my feet are getting sore + it take a good f***in' while to fill up 20 discs with shit.
Think I'm gonna go for the MCD.
