2.5" ide hard drive in 2000xl?

Hey people!
is it possible to use a 2.5" ide hdd on the mpc 2000xl ide/atapi interface with the correct 40 > 44 pin adapter? will the mpc recognise any ide device on this interface?
any help appreciated..

you have to use a scsi to IDE adapter

the mpc will only recognize scsi, but you can use the IDE HD if you have the adapter.

i've read that article, however are there any IDE hard drives that the mpc will recognise on the internal IDE/ATAPI interface?

read the first line.

A hard drive could only be connected to the SCSI connection, since the IDE port does not recognize hard drives (only removable drives).
