turntable to xl question

so I have a couple of questions my set up is a turntable to the mixer then a connection to my xl and I was wondering does the mixer affect the way the xl pick up the sounds from the record? cuz I have such a hard time beat matching on the timestretch option when I want my sequences tempo to match the speed of my sample. the timestretch window always displays a different bpm of the record sample and I go through such a hassle and confusion when I try to match speeds with my tempo on the sequence with the speed of the sample I know this is a lot but any help will be appreciated thank you.

I just bought a mpc 2000 how do you load up samples from vinyl on your floppy or zip disks. So you can use them in your mpc. Thanks. I have tons of vinyl and I want to know how to library it onto mpc.

Thanks I figured it out. The manual is pretty straight forward on that. The crazy part know is the waveform. When I sample and assign it to pads. It doesnt show the sample as a waveform is show is as a straight line. Do you know how I can get the sample to show is a waveform so that when I chop it manually by selecting the start and end points It is much easier than having to do by ear. Also I am having trouble selecting multiple start and end points. Do you know a topic I can go to or can you give me some tips on that.

a straight line?there must be something wrong...check manual for how to sample.go through the steps and you`ll have a nice wave ,except you`re on a 60

Is it a stereo or a mono sample? If stereo, does it come out of both speakers when you play it?

It is a stereo sample. It is recorded in stereo. If i record a mono sample will it show the waveform I will try that and see what it does. Thanks

maybe your watching the wrong channel if its stereo,or you recorded on low volume,or theres no sample recorded.can you hear it?

Then make sure both channels actually have a signal, and you're not viewing a channel that is muted. You can switch the waveform display between left and right channel in Trim screen.

I still cannot get a waveform going for my sample. My sample just goes in a straight line. I can hear it and edit by I have to edit it by ear and not by waveform. Can anybody help me with this problem. I have read the manual and it doesnt say anything about the waveform. Can somebody please help.
