I'm having the hardest time loading my samples.

I only have samples on my computer. I have a MPC 2000XL with 8 outs and expanded ram. But it only has a floppy drive. I have a usb floppy drive and I have tried Chicken System Translator and MPC editor. Every time I format a disk in the mpc and put it in the usb floppy I get errors. Also my pc won't format the disk with windows or the programs without some kind of error. I really want to use my mpc but there is nothing out there to discribe this. When I research loading samples everyone assumes that you have a million sample disks already made but I'm a product of the digital age and all my samples are on my harddrive. One website said that the MPC 2000xl can read pc formatted disks but this is not my experience. What the hell?

piss that floppy off, and save yourself the heart ache. Get a card reader for the mpc, or if you can't afford one go a zip drive, they can be had for quite cheap on ebay, and will allow you to copy wav's/pgm's to and from your pc / mpc.

I tried to install an IDE harddrive a min ago and it wouldn't reconize it even though i formatted it as an AKAI disk. I'm trying a few more things then I might have to go ahead and order a flash card reader.

I also have samples from my computer. I would like to know how to get my samples to the MPC. I have an iomega 250, but it's the older edition and it has no port that is compatible with the PC? Any info appreciated.

I've searched many times, but i still haven't found the answer. The only solution i can think of is converting all of the PC samples to wav. ?? But that's going to take a long time.

Yea do what lamp said, I use goldwave and it has a batch function, read how to use it, set it up and do it.
