Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi All,

I realize this has been discussed before and I 've tried to browse appropriate topics

but I am new to MPC world and seem to have some issues getting the MPC to read my zip disk through SCSI cable.

I read this handy link for step up ,

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=70545&hilit=mpc+users+guide[/url]

but , don't even think about it say no go. :(

I bought the 2000xl , bought usb zip drive, Scsi Zip drive,

took a blank zip disk ( was bank no pre formatting done)

made a patch with MPCPrmMaker 1.0.7

saved to disk.

setting are ok for the zip drive transmission on , ScSi =5

but when I boot the MPC, it says

waiting

then detecting Memory,

*** and I can see underneath this little screen

an option for Save Load Format

then it flashes away to the Main screen.

and I am left with a totally blank MPC ( no presets were in it when I got it)

do I need to do a formatting of the Zip disk first while in the drive and connected to MPC or is there some other Option I 've missed as to where to load my program I created in PGM Maker from the Zip to the pads?

thanks guys,

Well, have you tried to go back into the Load screen and actually loading the program after booting has finished? What you described was just the MPC trying to detect the media that is set for Autoloading, which is most probably not your new ZIP drive.
