External cd roms drives for the mpc 2000xl

I know there is a page in the forum that tells which cd rom drives are compatible with the mpc but there are only 3 listed. Im guessin there are probally more than 3. i just want to know if anyone uses one that is not on the list, or just ones they got to work with the mpc. please include manufacturer make and model. thanks

Works fine, verrrrry Fasssst! I believe all of those will work, I got mine for free but there are several at a local shop where I live and they are like 5$, stay away from Ebay as long as you can. Then if you can't find one locally, go to Ebay. The sellers on Ebay are doing the same thing, finding old ones and selling them or getting new/refurb and they know what you are using it for. Trying doing a search on Ebay: like this: "External SCSI" without MPC or Akai mentioned and the prices drop dramatically.

Plextor Ultraplex 40 Max and it works fine for many years....
