new to the forums, new to the mpc, few questions

respect to all the members and im glad that ive come across this forum. im new to the mpc and i just got my first mpc a few weeks ago. first and foremost i dont think i did as much research as i should have done before hand because my first machine was a 2000 classic. i come to realize that i cant have the machine automatically chop up my samples however it has can do it manually in zone edit. problem is when i actually highlight the zone and press edit how do i get to assign that specific zone to a pad?

to solve this problem correct me if im wrong id either have to upgrade to the xl, can cop a sampler like an s900? or go this way i say kanye do ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=irb335ThCdo )

just make how ever many copys of the sample, ie. sample01.snd, sample02.snd.

assign them to the pads, and TRIM the bits your wanna keep for each chop.

where can i fine the manual for the 2k i keep finding the manual for the xl

also on this forums you can find a tip/trick to use your 16 levels to sort of "chop" longer samples, does the trick for me since i bought my first 2kclassic new in the store.

I tried that 16 level trick but it didnt seem as though the sample was chopped. Only about 2 pads had a chopped piece of the sample while the other pads played the sample in full.

For the method mentioned way above i loaded the sample fourtimes ( i dont know how to copy samples to other pads,im new) and on the last 2 pads when they were pressed it only play 3 secs of the sample while the other 2 pads played the sample in full

Would getting a s900 be more wise in order to have it automatically chop my samples?

you can get whatever you want but if you don't have patience to try things and read manuals you will not be able to work ANY machine.

S900's Are trickier to use IMHO and it won't autochop shit for you.
