mpc problem help before i purchase turntable!!!!!

ok, so i finnaly got some monitors, now everything is kool, except for when i go to shift+sample, then that screen comes up with the level meter and it should be silent correct(no activity, the level meters should not be moving)?cuz there is no turntable or anything else hooked up. so i turned my monitors all the way and i can hear some static humming sounds. sounds dirty. but when i leave the sampling mode its all good back to normal. maybe this will go away when i get a turntable hooked up to the connections?

or bad electricity

sounds like it's not grounded / you have noise on the electricity line.

you can buy a line tester to test your wall outlet.

if you flip on the lights / fans on with your speakers on do you
hear popping & clicks?
