It could only be used with an XL, as it is an IDE drive, and even then only if its firmware is compatible. We have looked into these devices as a possible SCSI solution but, for all other samplers, you need a rather expensive and slow IDE-to-SCSI converter board. Again, there can always be compatibility problems with certain samplers.
But if it does work with an XL, it would be a cool and inexpensive solution. Note that it doesn't support hotswapping cards (as most of the IDE drives do not), so you better be sure you have a large enough card in the thing when working on your beats, cause you'd have to power down your XL to switch cards. Our MCDISK drives, on the other hand, do support hotswapping CF cards.
