tried installing zip, now MPC wont cut on

yesterday i recieved my new zip drive ive been waiting on and tried to install it myself n replace the floppydr..well i got it to read the zip drive but i noticed i touched the hi voltage (yellow) power supply and it sparked..then i tried to cut it on and it wouldnt work..please tell me there is a way to fix this.

You've blow you internal fuse on the power supply. I did the same thing.

Lesson...don't work with live electrics. You'll fook you unit.

Its something like a 3 amp radio/TV fuse, small glass type. Dirt cheap.

DON'T DO IT AGAIN!!

yeah i stay in the US..so what is the exact name of this product?

Its just a standard 3 amp fuse. In the UK we have a standard size called a BS1362 type. Im not sure if you use this type in the states but the type you need for your power supply are a F3A / 250V small glass type. I didn't use slow blow as this could allow unwanted voltage to keep flowing in the event of an accident and damage the internal electronics. Maplins or Radio spares type places will stock em!

Lol I did this by mistake today when in frustration of the MPC not recognising my ZIP drive the bastard, replaced the fuse and all's was ok.
I think the fuse is a 2A not 3 well that's what mine says on the power board and the fuse.

Yep, that's the puppies. Only difference being that the ebay ones are ceramic instead of glass but they do the same job.

yessir, went by Pep Boys this morning and jacked me a few of them joints. lol they was 4 dollars fo a 2 pack n i aint paying that much for 2 fuses lol..but i opened up the mpc and replaced the fuse n sure enough cut it on and it worked..thanks for your help man i really appreciate it..

I thought Id blown my 2000 classic the same way. A badly made power cable to the zip was the culprit
