I have an important gig next monday and am leaving for a tour in 2 weeks My mpc 2000 (not xl) needs a new lcd screen. I was counting on Rogue music but they are all out of replacement screens at the moment. Anybody know any place else in NYC that can do this immediatly?

If you call Akai direct and if they have it in stock, you can have them overnight the replacement screen and you can install it yourself easily.

You can call rock and soul music on Broadway, if they don't do it they know where you can bring it. I don't know the # off hand but, goto www.rockandsoul.com and get it from there.

If you can install your own memory into the MPC, you can install the LCD. It's a couple more screws to remove, unplug the inverter, slide in the new LCD and plug it in. It's really that simple, just make sure you have a jewlers screw driver set with you because the screws that hold down the LCD are allot smaller than the screws that hold down the other boards.
