Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

This may not be an MPC issue...but maybe someone has run into it before.

Has anyone ever had issues with your Zip drive failing to recognize your 250mb Zip disks...or when it does recognize it, it only recognizes the first partition?....yes, these are disks I have used before, partitioned, etc.....

The 100s are fine...but I have loads of 250 disks with info on them.

The drive is definitely a 250 drive? If its a 100 drive it won't see all of the 250MB disc.

It definitely is...I've used it for years....around 7 to be exact...for both types of disks, with no problems at all. It just all of a sudden stopped recognizing my 250 disks...i wonder if there's something to the disk reader on the MPC SCSI port....or maybe I'm talking out of my ass...I'll probably get it checked out if no one has a fix on here.

It could be some of your 250MB disks are going bad or it could be the drive is going bad. It's pretty hard to tell without being there to see exactly what is going on. If you can no longer read any of your 250MB disks, I'd say your zip drive is finally going bad. 7 years is an incredibly long time for a zip drive to work - consider yourself lucky!
