Panning On Tracks

Does anyone know with instruments go left or right. Kicks,Snares,Hi Hats,Bass,Keys,Horns Peace everyone keep banging out those tracks!

there's really no one way to determine what needs to be panned. u just gotta trust ya ears.

i pan instruments as i like it. when it comes to drums, just pan as you see the drumkit from the audiences perspective.

For the drums, if you are aiming realism, panning the toms from the left to the right and the cymbals as their real place in a drumkit could be interesting.
