2000 with a Sound Module help

So my first question is, can the mpc control a midi sound module with the pads?

If yes, can one of you guide me through the set-up process.

All I want to do I control the sounds with the pads from the MPC and obviously record them over my beats.

Would appreciate the help.

Just found a thread that mentions this is possible but the pads were playing all the keys in the wrong order, so I kindly ask for help in this area too. There was a file linked that fixed this issue but the link is now dead, that said his issue was with a 2000XL, may the 2000 non XL model doesn;t have this issue?

what you can do is make a blank aps file with the pads in order starting with note 35 and that will put them in order for the module. what i did was made it my main aps that loads every time i started so i didn't have to redo it or load it manually. its easy to do. shift+program to do it.

Can someone help me with this please, really wasting time here trying to figure it out when one of your can just get me up and running within minutes.

Where do I want my midi cable coming out from in the sound module and where do I want it going in the MPC???
Do I need more than one Midi Cable????
How do I set it up on the MPC so I can play the sounds on the sound module with the pads on my 2000????

use your brain and a midi tutorial you can find everywhere on the www...I`d like to say....
midi out on mpc to midi in on sound module,midi out on sound module to midi in on mpc....
if you don`t want to plug the cable in and out to record or play the sound module you should get the luxury of a second cable.....

you need to get 2 cables and go mpc out to module in \ module out to mpc in. then you still need to switch from the drum program to midi. and select the channel you want to control.
this vid will give you the basic function for the mpc. although there is a keyboard in the loop. i can still just use the pads to do it.

Thanks for your reply, did everything you said and went over that midi video but for some reason I can see the disply playing the sounds on the Roland SC-55 but I can't hear it on the MPC or from the unit.
If I record a beat using the MPC it even displays it on the SC-55, this is so wierd.

Probably a stupid question but do you have the Roland plugged into a mixer or something so you could hear the sounds it is making? Just having it midi controlled via the MPC won't make the audio come through the MPC outputs.

Not a stupid question at all really, I just have the Roland SC-55 plugged into the MPC via MIDI only as mentioned by previous posters.
I tried plugging my hear phones into the Roland too, but I hear nothing from that either.

you have to hook up the audio path from all your gear to a mixer. mpc mains, any sound modules, keyboards. they all need theyre own audio cables too. midi only transmits data

Shouldn't I be able to hear the sounds from the module with the headphone socket?

So it looks like I was doing the right things all along, but the sound module is fu**ed which is a shame.

But thanks for your help anyway guys, just wanted a second opinion making sure I was doing things the right way.
