What do I set my Mpc on when Sampling from the...

Record player.

I connect my Audio Outs into the Pre Amp then I connect the Pre Amp into the Akai MPC2000xl. What do I do next. I can't the sample to play would if anything am I doing wrong.

Record Player--->Pre Amp---->MPC "RECORD IN"--->Shift + 4(sample) :)

Is the RECORD IN that you are talking about the one that uses the 1/4 cable?
