Problem with Zip 100 Drive working with MPC 2000

I just got a SCSI cable for my Zip drive and I hooked it up to my 2000 I selected the drive and put it on channel 5, I tried to load sounds from the zip disk I used and it doesn't come up on the screen. Does anyone Know why this happens
and how do I fix this problem

Do you have the switches set to the proper options on back of the zip drive?

Yes. On 5. 6 doesn't read. could their be rust in the SCSI port on My MPC
