saving to a hard drive

Ijust recieve an hp 9.0gb hard drive and attempted to save the sounds and sequences i hav eloaded to it. It seems the mpc recognizes that the hd id there but i can't tell whether it actually save ths info or not. I can't turn off my machine or load any other sound cause it's maxed out. How do I know when it's sae tomove forward?

Okay - does the HD show HP beside the Vendor field when you select the SCSI ID number that the HD is set to? If so, have you formatted it yet? You must format the drive before you can save to it. Do you have a MPC2000 or an XL?
