I'm not new to this by any means. My mpd16 has been giving my computer the blue screen of death when hooked up via usb, so I went and bought an ac adapter and midisport uno so that i could avoid that problem. I hooked it up and the lights are blinkin, the midi light is registering in my fl studio and reason, but for some reason the sounds arent being triggered by the mpd16. i have an emu keyboard hooked up via usb and its working fine. The midisport shows up on the list and is enabled?
anyone have any suggestions before i got bald?

Been a while since ive looked at fruity loops. Maybe you have the emu set as your default midi controller. If thats the case you might have to go to the track with the midi instrument and tell it to accept midi info from the midisport. If the midi light is flashing on in FL, then the mpd and midisport is not the problem. Actually everything seems fine to me. Try switching your default controller to the midisport input. See if that works.

just try and activate the midi input for the track you want to use the mpd with. See if that will work. In reason you can setup a default midi controller as well as setup the midi bus to use multiple controllers.
One other thing is to make sure you know what midi channel the mpd is outputing. You can change it via the software that came with it (usb) or manually (its in the manual)
