The m-box didn't come with midi connections!.... :x How in the hell I suppose to sync my mpc 4000 to pro tools....I want to set one as the slave and the other as the master!....I also have the tascam US122,...Is there a way for me to use that to sync the mpc with the m-box and protools

Dunno 'bout that. Digidesign is picky when it comes to additional hardware (computerwise). Emagic MIDI interfaces work very tight with Pro Tools. (I have an MT4, costs 120 bucks, has 2 in, 4 outs)

I mean, look at the mpc 4000, its a fuking monster, with so much power and options and what is he using to get all that from point a to b, a mbox! From just looking on the back of the 4k you have the option to have the 8 outs or adat 8, and you cant use none of that with a mbox, so sooner or later duke is gona out grow the mbox because he gona want to do things as fast as the machine he uses would let him. Do people get the mbox cause of the name pro tools or do they get it cause its a great sound card.

Take me for instance I cant afford a 4k nor can I afford an ICON
so I opted for the mbox is it a great soundcard I would say yes
if you're a mac user and if you are a pc user like me it's near
zero latency unfortunately good yes but not great and yes the
4k is a BEAST.

I think people start out with the mbox cause it's the entry level pro tools setup, and it has a good mic preamp built in, so with a mbox and a mic and monitors, all you need is a midi interface and your old gear/music and you are set up. Most mbox users get it as a entry level piece and upgrade later. I dont' have an mbox yet but I might get one soon... I'd rather have a old digi 001 but we'll see what happens in the coming months...
