neKo 64?

somebody posted a link in another thread and I was surprised I had never heard of this machine before. It seems to good to be true(slots for digidesign, compatibility with any software, mixing, burning and recording capabilities).


So whats the deal, is this any good or just another "all in one" device that sacrificed alot for the sake of versatility?

Dogs, this ish looks incredible. I don't know about the owners and technicians at this apparently new company, so I'm not sure how well thier gear actually works. However, the specs look very impressive, and, for the price tag, there's no 'too good to be true factor' there (Thier ish is pretty costly). If I was on the road right now, I would an OpenLabs Neko 64. Besides being beautiful, you can basically hoop out your ish any way you want it. And, since everything is in module format, I am sure that, for a price, they would be willing to do other upgrades. I wonder if it is compatible with any Mac OS.
Did you see the Controller One, or whatever it's called? For $1000 you can
use the 17 inch LCD touchscreen to DIRECTLY control any audio software. So I could literally do a hands on mix in protools or logic by touching faders, knobs, plugins, whatever, right on the screen image! Sick. I wanna see this company do well so they can keep coming with these inovations.

funny story - someones desire for that there machine led to me getting my mpc for 100 dollars.

i love that sucker!!!!!! cause i wanted an mpc for years and never would have been able to afford it . . ..

its a windows pc in a custom case with built in controllers and i/o. so no mac stuff.

but nowe that i have an mpc the other jawn has me drooling:

True...I was mostly fantasizing. I would never run any audio ish that required PCI slots on windows OS. Especially for a live application.
But with that dual 64 athlon processor, if their integration is tight, you could probably have the thing do whatever you need. If it works as good as it looks, I may have to have one...
