HELP ME PLEASE MPC & CUBASE SETUP

how in the world do you get the mpc2000 to "send" to cubase SX sequncer?
I can get any keyboard in my studio to work but I can not for the life of me get the mpc to work with a sequencer! I basicaly want to hit the pads on the MPC and have cubase sequence it back....how simple is this! I have 2 mpc2000's 1 XL ... And cant get them to work in this fasion!
Do I have to throw out my mpc!? And just switch to EMU ultras? hmmm....
SO the whole point of this ranting is I have a amt8 connected to cubase a waldorf , supernova , and the Mpc's...Can anyone help? Akia are you around? Customer suport please!

this should be really easy. I use Cubase sx just to multitrack i still do my seqences in the MPC so i haven't done this myself.
I think all you have to do is set up a track on your MPC with, lets say midi channel A-1. Then connect the midi out A of your MPC to midi port on your computer.
Insert a new midi-track in Cubase, set it to the same midi channel (1), and arm it. You should now at least recieve midi. There's also a little light on cubases transport bar that will blink if it recieves midi. If it does, hit record, and you're done.
If this doesn't work, or i'm missing the point, post again and i'll try it out myself.

yes throw out your mpc (Midi Production Center) as you got one of the models that doesnt support midi.

HAHAHA really though, on the main screen where it has drum: off change it to Midi:1a and set your cubase to channel 1 and everything should be butter.

what does "arm it" mean?

Just select the midi track you want to record, press record on cubase, and it's going to wait for any midi signal coming in.

i have cubase and mpc xl and i dont use midi. all my recording is recorded via audio input directly from my mpc into cubase and it appears as wave.
