What software is better? I think it's just a matter of personal choice. I dont think one program is necessarily "better". On a side note, Im running PT on a home built athlon 64 with NO problems as well.

I use pro tools le on a G4 with the digi 001 ..I use the mpc as the drum machine ..I will program a song sequence on the mpc as a drum track...mix the mpc down on a small analogue desk which is recorded into pro tools...pro tools is also good for cutting up and making samples for the mpc.......the plugin valve compresser and eq are good for cleaning any dirty samples..I have never tried hooking up for midi ....

sorry i haven't responded at least to thank u guys 4 responding. i was in the middle of moving, and yes, setting up the damn lab again. whoa not easy. so now i'm trying to make everything click again. my studio set up is: mo phat (sound module), roland 5080 (sound module), midi express xt, pro tools 6.4 with 001, mackie 8 in 8 out and mpc 2000xl. i also have sampletank but really haven't grasped it yet. i'm a little overwhelmed by how much i need to learn but i've come a long way. i need more schooling when it comes to the mpc and i really have to get my skills tighter with the sound modules. anyone have the roland 5080? and any tips u can give me would be great...
