Korg Triton LE vs Korg Trinity Plus

Hi, i want your opinions on the two. Which has better sounds or are they the same? I will be using it with my mpc 3000. The trinity is much cheaper too. Help me decide

roll with the triton le, the tone genersator is a lil more advanced than the trinity.

The sound engine in the Triton is a lil bit more advanced, but the LE lacks a lot of options that may be very useful for you such as outputs, sampling capabilities (optional), and I think SCSI. Don't quote me on these though. Anyway if sounds is all you're after get the Triton, if you plan on using it for more get the Trinity.

you can get the triton le with sampling...it comes as an option, which is nice, cause if you do all your sampling on the mpc, you may not want to double up.

the only differance between teh triton le and the regular triton are that there are less insert efx, and you cant add expansion boards....overal teh triton le is nice, but you might be better off with a regular triton.

since they came out with the triton extreme....the classic triton is discontinued just like the trinity so its much less expensive,

like 1300....probably still find some new.

i owned a triton le, now i own the triton studio....id say the triton le is all you need..much to explain, but now that i own the big daddy, i can say its not like you get that much more.....as far as teh trinity...id say only get it if you like its particular sound. DOnt get me wrong its good, and is a classic, but because its older-support and update isnt the same as the triton series.

the trinity: i hear its got good pads, and synthy leads....but some of the acoustic is dated, not in a bad way, but like mainstream hits a while back...not sure though. I think its probably an equally good choice between all of them. IT just depends on teh sound you wanna go for. THe triton is a little more dance edgey whereas i think the trinity is more R and B.

If it were me doing teh whole synth thing all over again, id look into the triton extreme, or motif es.

I still do miss the triton le i owned...it was so simple with it, i could sequence just as fast as my mpc....and i didnt have to deal with midi. (now i use mpc and triton tegether) THe sampler was good, better than the mpc "feature wise" cause you could apply effects. Im unsure if there is a new OS update with resampling, but when i had mine it didnt have resample...but i think it does now. THe trinity im pretty sure has an open sampling system where you can resample.; MY favorite part of the triton le was the smartmedia cards it used....i could sample all day and save fast.....on the trinity, youll need a hard drive, or a zip drive to save samples....you might be use to it with the mpc3000, but believe me, if you used the smartmedia, youll wish everything had it. THe lack of touch screen on the triton le i miss as well...it was faster with buttons, even though touch screen is nice, ive had problems with mine, and its not all its cracked up to be, anyways; those are things i thought woudl be a good comparison...im not tryin to lean you towards the le, but thats my perspective.

Id try to demo each, sound for sound theyd probably be close, but feature wise, you have to see what floats your boat.

but if your looking for deals on synths: for teh price and what you get the motif classic is the best price. even the motif es 61 isnt bad.

i have a triton classic right now and i use it with my mpc 3000. The thing is that, i want to sell my triton because i dont need all those features it has. I do everything on the mpc 3000, and all i need the triton, triton le or trinity is for the sounds. I can get a trinity or triton LE for around 600-800 and with the remainder money i want to geta compressor and a mic. I can probably sell my triton classic for around 1300 and then buy either of the above keyboards and use the rest of the money to get a compressor and a mic. What do you think of the situation now?

If you only need it for sounds I say get the rack module...it's cheaper, and doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but if you don't need 'em you'll be wasting cheese gettin the big daddy...


I have a trinity rack module, got it for about $400 abou 6 mts ago...I'm pleased with it...the sounds are good, and it's got a buch of options I've not gotten to yet...ie don't even really know how to get all the bang out of it, but I got it mainly to have a keyboard midi'd to my MP...I use a bullsh!t Casio as the midi controller, and have made some hot sh!t...

nah no racks i dont want to chain everything up, i want a keyboard. My current setup is simple and i would like to keep it that way. I think im going to look into the triton le, it seems to be simple and have all the triton classic sounds along with newer ones. I love my triton classic but i want to do some recording so im willing to sell it to get a triton le and a mic.

i agree....i dont like the idea of more wires.....its just a pain with one keyboard, let alone a midi controller and a rack.

anyways, then id get the triton le....as mentioned above, the only differance between the triton le, and triton classic are the "sampler option," no exb boards, and less insert effects. Sounds like what you need.

i do know that it can load samples to playback without the sample expansion board....so you can feed it something from your mpc if you want.
