Are you recording midi into your maschine...from an external keyboard?
do you think the maschine sounds better than an MPC?

in my setup maschine is not my main app, live is. as I mentioned earlier I didnt bother with their software until recently. but from the few times I've used it to sequence drum patterns it worked fine.

I have not tried recording from external keyboard, I still tend to do most work in live as Im more familiar with it.
Sound is very subjective topic, I think maschine sounds as good as the samples it came with and my audio interface, which is capable of 24bit 96hz.
I've had few mpcs in my posession and a roland mv, had 1000, 2500 and 4000. Outta the bunch 2500 was least favorite sound wise, while 4000 was most favorite.

That's probably your soundcard.

Yea I stopped ridin shotgun mpc hype while back...as good as the mpc feels my production and beat making experience improved by far in software. I tried being mpc head but got no patience for it, and I got my whole studio on the go with laptop and midi controller...as far as maschine goes I use it mainly for drums now, as for some reason I cant monitor while sampling...tube is good idea, you could also bounce it to tape and back to add extra flavor.

someone with a mpc and mpd could answer this with a phillips head and 10 minutes..

Yes I do realize MPC is digital equipment that has it's own A/D converters to send AUDIO signals back out VIA analog...I prefer recording into DAW with about 8-12 streaming audio tracks at one time....my goal is to get to the mixing process and finalize the song while maintaining maximum fidelity ASAP.

MY NEW QUESTION is WHO's running MPC straight to Abelton Live 8..I think this is my solution...I've been working with traktion3/cubase4..I'm thinking LIVE 8 is just all around better for what I'm trying to accomplish.
Also Presonus StudioLIVE 16 or 24tracks and the Mackie ONYX 1640i 16x16 firewire to analog summing mix seems to be exactly what I'm looking for...ANYBODY got experience with those?

I play live guitar and bass guitar(pretty good at both) so I tend to shy away from the digital realm as much as I can(it's not working). But Im a beatmaker by nature..MPC/MASCHINE don't matter...they will all intergrate in the recording process at some point.

thanks fo ya time! 8)

You can make it work but it will take more fous than you want to give...I HAD ENOUGH...because I want to make PROFESSIONAL STYLE BEATS...MASCHINE IS OK..BUT JUST NOT ON THAT LEVEL TO ME...because I know what the MPC sounds like and SYNCs like...besides IM A HOW DOES IT SOUND? KIND OF GUY...

I don't think so bro. "Latency" has nothing to do with Maschine. It's your soundcard and your computer spec that determines that. You can make excuses about what YOU need to make "PROFESSIONAL STYLE BEATS" but pros are making beats just fine whether it's a Maschine or MPC.
