turntable and MPC

yeah get two more of those double audio cables. one for MPC, One for MoPhatt, and one for MicroKorg.

you can use the MicroKorg to play the MoPhatt, use the MPC to record your licks., MPC will then playback your notes to the MoPhatt. MPC can also play the Micro Korg. All this playing and recording is done w/the MIDI cables. get a third MIDI cable while you're at it, hook them like this: Korg out to MPC in, MPC out to Korg and MPC out to MoPhatt.

now, with 3 noisemakers you DEF gonna want a line mixer to blend it all together to feed to your amp.
Still get the basic Numark so you can sample from your records, but get a line mixer too. you wont regret it.

really with this setup working, you got all you need for some serious sound.

one more thing - I can get a Numark M4 for $5 more than the M3, I assume I should roll with that?

and along with the Numark you said I should get a line mixer - any recommendation?

Ron, the M4 has 3 inputs, the M3 has 2. M3 might have a simpler interface, which is nice if you just want to bring your turntable and one other source to sample. More inputs is nice though, you could for ex, route the main mix back into the MPC to sample without having to unplug something else. But WTF man, keep it simple. this is getting out of hand.. don't worry about shit you've never fathomed before. get the M4, better for donw the line I guess.



You have at this point 6 outputs that need to be mixed in a mixer. (8 if you want to run your Turntable into the main mix too) I'd get a 12 channel mixer so you can get a new piece of gear or two eventually and still be set. Anything that can be considered an input is counted as an input with these things, so while 12 chan. sounds like alot, they really get used up fast.

Mackie is a good brand, if you want to save some $$ you can get a Behringer. Neither of these are world class, but I think for your needs they'll do just fine for a long time.

I got an okay Casio keyboard for cheap and it only has 1 output in the back

the other keyboard I was using had 2, so I can only hear out of one speaker obviously with this
when in RECORD mode on the mpc if I'm sampling sounds onto my program


*I've also received nearly everything I need to set this whole thing up, waiting on 2 things

the casio is mono - don't use a stereo cable. to hear it on both speakers/monitors, record/sample as a mono sample. to hear it on both speakers/monitors when playing the casio you have two options. 1/ go to the record function and turn mode from stereo to either left of right. or 2/go to input thru, and change mode from stereo to left or right.
