Tascam DP-02

well me and my brother have been using DAW's for about a year now and we are wanting to work more hands on with our music so we are looking into digital recorders. We've both read the topics over at tweakheadz and other sites, but still not clear about one thing:

The TASCAM DP-02, has 8-track recording. We use mostly line level instruments (MPC 1000, MicroKorg XL, Roland 201), and also an electric guitar and bass guitar.

Would we only be able to plug 1 of these things in at a time into the Tascam Dp-02?

(basically how would we get all this plugged up and recorded the quickest?, especially the MPC 1000 and the XL)

The DP requires you track 2 inputs at a time, plus you are only able to listen to the exisitng tracks and the 2 inputs.
So you won't have a fuinctional mixer to use with your gear.

Another thing about the DP-02 (and DP-01) is that you can't record with effects you have to add them to the track.



If you have

(MPC 1000, MicroKorg XL, Roland 201), and also an electric guitar and bass guitar.

and are coming from a DAW, then you should look into something like the 2488NEO from Tascam.
If not that at least something that allows you to have a functional mixer for your setup as well as a multitrack recorder.
Yamaha, Roland, Akai etc all have things along those lines.

If you do decide you can deal with the DP-02 then make sure you don't get the DP-02CF.

Bro get interface controller for ur daw like that protools board. You won't regret it.

maybe Zoom HD16cd.. I was lookin at that.. I think 8 at once recording.. or 4.. dont remember.

i've got the zoom. pretty sick 8 tracks at once
