Numark PT-01USB Sound Question

I just bought a Numark PT-01USB Turntable. Already having a TTUSB, this one was mainly going to be for those "trips to the store" portability purposes. After playing a few records on it and listening through both the built in speaker and headphones, the sound is pretty good, and I was considering (while waiting to go out later tonight or tomorrow to pick up a pair of RCA cables) handing over my TTUSB to a friend and just using this the PT-01 for both my sampling work (directly to the MPC) and shopping.

So... For those of you who have used the PT-01 for sampling, how does it sound?

i just got the PT-01 usb a month or so ago. for the most part it worx for what i sample from, but i do find there is a slight hum with it. i also find that it picks up physical contact (like, if you adjust the knobs while sampling, it grounds the turntable). just very very slight sound difs, but if yr a purist, it may be a big deal.

i mostly just sample dollar bin stuffs that sound like they've been belt-sanded. so it doesn't affect me. lol.

Thanks peoples. I'm sure I'm really going to miss my TTUSB, but handling two different tasks with one piece is better than having both sitting around; plus I'm getting $70 for the TTUSB so that almost pays for the PT-01.

As far as what fasttrackpimp was saying, I'm not too big on having my samples sound crystal clear, I like a little "dirtiness" to them, plus I like to play with them a little, sometimes a lot, after sampling (EQ, distortion, etc.), so I don't think that will be that big of a problem for me.

fawn... I heard some of that feedback through the headphones as well. But I think I can work with it.

i find the PT-01 to sound rather "hollow" for lack of a better word... but it's the case with any turntable that has a plastic tonearm and cheap needle...

I wouldn't recommend it for sampling.
