How do you monitor your MPC and PC/MAC at the same time?

Right now I got my monitors running into my Presonus AudioBox into the left/right channels, and cables running through the main outs of the MPC into the ins of the interface. This means that I have to have my computer on (interface powered through USB) to monitor my MPC. How do you guys hook things up?

mpc1000 outs 1-4 into Delta 1010 channels 1-4, mpc stereo outs into Deltas 5/6, Delta 1/2 outs to KRK Rokit 5s

It's a mixer that makes monitoring possible. Right now I'm using my small mixer because of room space. But for large stuff, I go to an ole school behringer mx8000 (the one that started the mackie 24.8 controversy).

In addition to using the small mixer, I'll also make use of a 1/4" patch bay which works wonders when you have more connections than the mixer can handle.

I also use two of the same audio interfaces.

Ohh I see. Can you be a little more specific on how you hook stuff up. Also, for a short time, I had y-splitter cables plugged into my monitors, splitting the signal into the MPC and PC. The problem with that was the opposite, when I had both MP and PC on, they would fight for the signal, resulting in just trumbling sound.

All instruments in my config consume two "mic/line" channels on the mixer (for stereo connection). Monitors connect directly from the mixers' "monitor out L-R" outputs (the monitors are active/bi-amped).

External efx like the alesis Q2 and lexicon mpx-1 are routed through the auxes and a master compressor (dbx ddp) might get used on the mixers' master insert bus.

Tape in/outs on the mixer are routed to the in/outs of the two echo layla interfaces and a adat xt20 mdm.

I use galobs of cables...def hundreds of dollars spent during my tenture in this game so far.

I used to have an eight channel audio card, I just use a patch bau and audio thru on my mpc now. Just depends on what you are trying to do.
